Polyether-based PU sealants can endure water or heat alone. But when the two come together, it is common for failure to occur.
Horizontal joint, a weak point
Unlike the vertical joints on the facades, the horizontal joints on bridges, airports, platforms, plazas and malls are easily exposed to water immersion and sunlight radiation simultaneously. That is why failure is so commonly spotted on PU sealant applied on the horizontal joints in these places.

LIMAX Chemical has developed a two-component PU sealant, UHR-01, with high resistance against combined water and heat. UHR-01 is exclusively suitable for the outdoors horizontal joints, especially in the tropic regions, where rain and hot sun frequently rotate.
